In September of 1996 Norma and I stepped out in faith and founded a private school focused on meeting the needs of one of our children and others in the community with learning challenges. Two years later we applied for and opened the first Charter School in East Texas allowing every child to attend tuition free. With a simple philosophy of focusing education on the individual needs of each child the school has grown to what it has become today.
During the past year, Norma has retired from her Superintendent position and this month I am stepping down as Board Chairman.
As we transition to "Retirement", Norma and I want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the teachers and staff who took that mission and put it into practice and to all the families in our community who entrusted the education of
their children to us.
Each and every child is as precious as is their education.

💊 May 18th - 20th: 8.00 am - 3.15 pm
💊 May 21st: 8.00 am - 12.00 pm
💊 All medication must be picked up by a parent/guardian by May 21st at noon.
💊 Any medication not picked up will be discarded by May 22nd.

TLA Middle School students will be presenting their annual play on Tuesday, May 19th at 6pm in the flex space.
The admission fee is $5 per person and payable in cash at the event.

Come support our students as they take the stage and share the joy of performance. We look forward to celebrating this special moment together.
Families are invited to watch their child and classmates present. Please be on the lookout for classroom-specific information from your child's guides.
If you would like your student to purchase a Frios popsicle during the school day, please have your child bring $5 in coash to school that day.

This special event is an opportunity for our families to hear directly from district and campus leadership about upcoming plans, key projects, and the direction of The Leadership Academy for the year ahead. Together, we will explore how our Montessori values continue to guide growth, innovation, and student success.While this event is primarily for charter school families, private school families are very welcome to attend as well.We invite you to engage in meaningful conversation, ask questions, and partner with us as we continue building a strong, supportive community focused on preparing our students for life.Let's plant the seeds together for TLA's future!
