Distant Learners/Parents do not feel like you need to attend all of these lessons. They will be recorded and uploaded to Seesaw for your child to watch. The first day has so many things to review, therefore this day will be very different than the rest of the year.

 

First Day of School

Wednesday, August 19th

7:40-7:55 Welcome (game), Peace Time, Brain gym

7:55-8:25 Play “getting to know each other” (pg. 17 Health Manual)

8:25-8:45 Review give me five and frog croak; 

Thinking about Peace (pg. 110 Peace Manual); 

Give a quiet time lesson (pg 122 Peace Manual)

8:45-9:10 Read Peace Flower book and practice with friends (pg. 132 Peace Manual; Role Playing Being a Peacemaker)

9:10-9:25 Peace Flower Petal #1 Self Awareness (pg 112 Peace Manual)

9:25-9:35 Give a lesson on work plans

Which papers are theirs which are guides.

Where completed work goes and work in progress.

Once work is complete put one check beside it, guide will highlight it

Explain when due and Friday Activity

Turning a knob for help.

9:35-10:00 Courtyard Break Time

10:00-10:30 Give lessons on chores and assign duties, 

How to use paper (pink line on left, holes on left, name, date), 

Lunch time procedures, 

name in book, and consequences.

11:35-12:05  Recess

12:10-12:30 Lunch

12:30-1:00 Chores, Silent Reading

1:00-2:30 Contract Work

2:30-3:15 P.E.

3:15-3:25 Prepare for Carpool
