Presentation Information

Dear Parents, 

Our class will be giving weekly or biweekly presentations.  The presentations will provide opportunities for students to become comfortable speaking in front of peers while also teaching them how to organize their thoughts and communicate well.  These times can be a lot of fun, and we hope you will help your child come prepared.  This means setting aside some time each week to help them think through the subject, writing out a few notes, gathering prompts if necessary, and practicing in front of others at home.

The presentation schedule is listed on the following page with the topic along with the delivery and content skills that we will be focusing on.  We will be working with the students to help them improve these skills.  Examples include eye contact, posture, tempo, timing, poise, forming introductions, and much more.  We all know some children are natural speakers, and others will have to work harder on these skills.  No one is expecting perfection, but we do hope you will see the wonderful benefits of training your child to be a good public speaker.
